Okay is it just me or is EVERYONE getting married this year?  It's nuts!!!!  I mean..uhh..mashaAllah, it's great :)

Sooooo, here's a question...let's say I have like....(let me count)....11 weddings to go to this year (4 in December, the rest in the summer)...is it okay to repeat clothes...there is no way I am going to make 11x3=33 (mehndi, nikkah, walima) outfits.  How do I go about repeating them?

Fashions change like crazy...I can't wear older clothes because the kameezes are just too long.  It's so irritating. Ughhhhh.  I feel like buying myself a suit and 11 different ties.  haha just kidding.

Anyone know any good excuses NOT to attend weddings lol.  I might get physically ill after the first 3.  Ahhhhhhh the first one's in 2 weeks.

Ooh...a good browse, if you has time:

wow that's like the opposite of us.. here there are NO weddings this summer!!! except for one reception way up in August of already married ppl... its very weird... we end up having like 5 or 6 weddings one summer then the next summer nothing!! (so i guess this means next summer we'll have a ton of weddings ;))

i'd suggest repeating clothes if the ppl are different! also u can totally wear stuff u wore to other weddings at mehndis... plus summer to winter i'm sure ppl will forget and in the meantime u can get ur darzi to fix some of the outfits so that they're in line with the style of hems and u could always get a new dupatta or something that makes the outfit look different!

ps nice outfits... but 800 bucks!!! sheesh kabobs.....
it's ok

[slm].....

just rinse and repeat baby.  i do it all the time then i mix and match and for some reason they ask me if it's new because they've never seen me wore it before.  ::)  the hijab change and style also makes it a difference.

Have fun in all your weddings.  I know that if i don't go to each one and they caught me going to someone else's....i'll never hear the end of it and they won't come to mine or my daughters.

Allah (SWT) bless...

fashion predictions

as salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullah,

JustOne I have a question -- when I got married my in-laws bought me a lot of shalwar qameesesseseses. :)

The thing is, I've only worn like two out of the ones that I have, and the rest are just sitting in my closet.  Almost all of them are the shorter shalwar qamees (the top ending above the knees).  My question is: Is this style going to go out of fashion soon?  Any predictions? :)  If not, I think I probably have an outfit set for every special occasion in the next ten years..

btw, I don't mean any offense to Hina's, but I think a lot of times these boutiques just copy/paste images of nice outfits they find on the net!  Seriously, I've seen some of these same images/fashions (in the bridal section) on a number of other websites.  Sorry Hina, for shouting you out  :(

salaam :)

Okay, yeah...it's still fashionable to have short kameezes.  Bbbuuttttt the new shalwars are incredibly awesome.  You know?  Patyalas.  I think I'm in love with patyalas.  They're like really baggy with huge "ghairs" (umm...pleats).  Basically, the ghair isn't just at the front, underneath the belt...it's like all around.  They're cool, unless people overdo it.

Short kameezes are fine..just when you get expensive stuff made, you should get it made AT the knee in case the fashion does a 180.

Okay so Hina's stuff was awesome a couple of years ago, but it totally looks repeated now.  She IS doing this really cool thing nowadays called "kundan ka kaam"...which is like clothes with kundan on it!!  Isn't that awesome?

She makes her yearly trip at ISNA (her sister does)...so in case anyone wants to check her out.  :)

Aww.... :(  I wish I could go to ISNA..I'm having north america withdrawal.

Ooh se7en you know what you should do?  Dress up really nicely in something the in-laws gave you, and make your husband dress up too...and then take a walk in the park.  Hahaha...I think that's just about the most romantic thing ever.

(I'm going now)

Oohhhh UPDATTEE!!  Sooooo my cousin just dropped the bombshell on us (comma his family comma) that he's getting married next week.  Apparently he was going to elope, but then he realized that we would have killed him, so he gave us a week's notice.  That means...I'm at 12 weddings this year.  *faints*

Wasalaam.
