[slm] I have been interested in how and why nations have risen and perished. While the Quran tells us of some nations downfall, I have been looking for photos of the same, and now, thanks to the net, these are available. So, what i have done is take some of these, and post them on my blog. I could have posted here, but perhaps the sight of the victims of the Vesuvius explosion in 79 AD would be disturbing for some, so I have posted these on my blog: http://timbuktu58.blogspot.com/ with the following shortcuts: http://timbuktu58.blogspot.com/2005/06/aad-people-of-hud-as.html http://timbuktu58.blogspot.com/2005/06/thamud-people-of-sualeh-as.html http://timbuktu58.blogspot.com/2005/06/people-of-prophet-lut-as.html and if you can stand the sight of bodies: http://timbuktu58.blogspot.com/2005/06/victims-of-vesuvius-i-79-ad.html http://timbuktu58.blogspot.com/2005/06/victims-of-vesuvius-ii.html http://timbuktu58.blogspot.com/2005/06/victims-of-vesuvius-iii.html and, of course, please see my religious blog for Hajj, Umrahh, duas, pics of ka`ba and Masjide nabwi http://islam-timbuktu.blogspot.com/ |

[slm] I wish now I had included a short description of each picture, but these are from the net, and I haven't actuaally visited these sites, (perhaps I never will, nor have I ever been able to take pictures), so a description would be wrong. Still, just look at these pics for Petra, and imagine how it must have felt like being lsot in the desert, and coming across a cleft in rocks, and when you take the path within the cleft, you come across a magnificient sight (of the Treasury Facade). Only it isn't magnificient, when you remember that these were people who were destroyed. http://timbuktu58.blogspot.com/2005/06/petra.html When these posts are archived, the above links won't work, so I will change the links, inshallah. and read the book on perished nations by Harun Yahya: http://www.harunyahya.com/pernat_preface.php at the bottom (center) of each page their are arrows for next or previous pages, as also a jump box for chapters on nations, so that the whole book can be read on line. |
