| [slm] Shaheen is our parakeet. We do not know what happened. She was hot one minute and dead the next. Ali just loved her and she Ali. You could always find her on his shoulder kissing him. Are there any hadith about birds, that you know of, that might lift his spirits? |

| slm, thats so sad Kathy... the weather has been ridiculously hot lately, i haven't been able to sleep normally for the last couple nights!! we have a parakeet too maybe we should put it near the AC?? |

| [slm] Sorry to hear about your loss Sr. kathy. It's best to keep parrots free of drafts. I've heard room temp is best. Check with a parrot forum though if you want to make sure. It'll prolly show signs if it overheats by panting or moving it's wings away from it's body. Misting with a sprayer also helps. [slm] |

[slm] Weird thing Kathy, my bird flew away on the 12th of June. I can't believe it flew! Anyways, I'm sorry for your loss, because I also lost my parrot love bird. Oh my god how cute he was and if I wanted to touch him he would bite me, or my finger off. :) lol But was sooo cute. He opened the cage and just left out into the woods (the door was openend accidently on his bird cage) and he knows how to open it. And went for it! Ah another bird lost too.... Neeko. | Bismillah Sorry for your loss. I had 2 love birds a while back, and when the female died for some unkown reason, the male starved himself to death. I have found that the best remedy for a loss of a pet is to get a new one as soon as possible. That decreases the time that Ali will feel pain and sadness and will take his mind off that tragic event. So heal his heart with a new pet to love, It works for my Mother and I. Fi Amanillah Ziad. |

| [slm] Sorry to hear about your parakeet.When I was in 3rd grade or so my family went overseas, and we had 2 parakeets at the time and we gave them to our neighbor who pramised to take good care of them .When we came back they were dead , found that , We used to give them calcium to keep them strong, she gave them too much more than what the bottle said , I was depressed for a while :( But I'm ok now , SRY again :) [wlm] |

| Sis you have to be very careful with birds, because so many things are dangerous to them. For instance, even candles shouldnt be used (unless you are certain they have lead free wicks), scented candles are also a no-no. Non stick is highly toxic to birds (kills them within minutes and very painfully) and poisonous to humans as well if it overheats, so NEVER use any non-stick appliances if you have pet birds. Perfumes, aerosols, essential oils, are also dangerous :( www.budgies.org has a lot of useful info (applies to other parrots as well as budgies). I dont know about anything to lift Ali's spirits about the bird, because as far as I know animals souls dont have an akhirah, but he can always ask for another in jannah inshallah xxx |
