I don't have a favorite verse per se, but one line that seems to always be in my head is suratul Muminun verse 1:
23:1
1. Qad aflaha al-Mu'uminuna
Successful indeed are the believers.

For me it sums it up :) and it sounds good when said in arabic. It's like a reminder.
And of course the rest of the sura reminds what we must do to be successful and the bounties bestowed upon us by Allah subhana watala.

anyhow,
keep it real.

[slm]Jannah. Here is my one of my fav verses, it's quite short than some but beautiful..

Surah 55 Ar-Rahman(The Beneficient): Fabe aiye aalaye rabbekuma tukadhibaan.
Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinn and men) deny?

This verse is repeated several times in the Surah for a reason. The Surah speaks of Allah(SWT)'s creation of Adam and the jinn, about the creation of the earth, the sun & the moon, the seas, the trees that prostate before Him. It's my fav coz in it, Allah(SWT) asks us the question of how we can deny such blessings from Him and most of all it gives me cause to pause and thank Allah(SWT).

My favorite verse was already mentioned(the one from Ar-Rahman)
but here is another one that keeps ringing in my mind:  :-X

"Therefore remember Me, I will remember you, and be thankful to Me, and do not be ungrateful to Me. O you who believe! seek assistance through patience and prayer; surely Allah is with the patient." (Surah Al Baqara verse 152&153)

I don't know, but whenever I read/listen to this verse, it brings a sense of reassurance and peacefullness... :)

Boy that's tough!!

For me, it's actually more of a concept, which happens to be repeated in a lot of verses.  An example:

23:62 On no soul do We place a burden greater than it can bear: before Us is a record which clearly shows the truth: they will never be wronged

The concept that Allah only gives what we can handle instills a lot of hope.  I actually prefer the verse with the duaa (same concept):

2:286 On no soul doth Allah place a burden greater than it can bear. It gets every good that it earns, and it suffers every ill that it earns. (Pray:) "Our Lord! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into error; our Lord! Lay not on us a burden Like that which Thou didst lay on those before us; Our Lord! Lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins, and grant us forgiveness. Have mercy on us. Thou art our Protector; Help us against those who stand against faith."

(One of my favorite duaas)

Wasalaam.

This is a hard question, because all of the Qur'an is so beautiful - there are so many to choose from.

But off the top of my head, a few of my favourites:

In times of hardship
"Verily, with every difficulty there is relief." 94:6

Putting trust in Allah's plan
And (the unbelievers) plotted and planned, and Allah too planned, and the best of planners is Allah."3:54

Prayer for Forgiveness
"O our Lord! cover (us) with Thy Forgiveness - me, my parents, and (all) Believers, on the Day that the Reckoning will be established! 14:41

Dealing with Oppression, and Protecting the Weak
And why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)?- Men, women, and children, whose cry is: "Our Lord! Rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from thee one who will protect; and raise for us from thee one who will help!" 4:75

[slm] for me, too, there are several verses that are favorites, so I cannot answer that question.

But there is a collection of verses, in fact a short Surah, that is my all-time favorite.

and that is:

the Surah Fatiha.

   Bismillah

   [slm]

I don't have just one favorite verse, but several...These are a few:

1. Ayat Al-Kursi
Allah! there is no god but he,
the living, the self-subsisting, the eternal.
no slumber can seize him, nor sleep.
all things in heaven and earth are his.
who could intercede in his presence without his permission?
he knows what appears in front of and behind his creatures.
nor can they encompass any knowledge of him except what he wills.
his throne extends over the heavens and the earth,
and he feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them,
for he is the highest and the most exalted.

2. Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth,
a likeness of his light is a niche in which is a lamp, the lamp is in a glass [and],
the glass is as it were a brightly shining star, lit from a blessed olive-tree,
neither eastern nor western, the oil where of almost gives light,
though fire touch it not--light upon light--
Allah guides to his light whom he pleases, and Allah sets forth parables
for men, and Allah is cognizant of all things. (24:35).

3. Verily god will not deal unjustly with man in aught, it is man that wrongs his
   own soul (Yunus: 44).

4. O man! what has seduced thee from thy lord most beneficient? (82:6)

5. Do people think that they are left alone by saying, 'we are believers,'
and will not be tried? (29:2)

5. And whoever is patient and forgiving, these most surely are actions due
   to courage (Shuar'aa: 43)

6. O my lord! truly am I in (desperate) need of any good that thou dost send me!
   (28:24)

7. Who is better in speech than one who calls (men) to Allah, works righteousness,
and says, 'I am of those who bow in Islam.' (41:33)

8. O ye who believe! bow down, prostrate yourselves and adore your lord; and
do good, that ye may prosper (22:77)

9. When my servants ask thee concerning me, I am indeed close (to them), I
respond to the prayer of every supplicant when he calleth on me (2:186)

10. Our lord! condemn us not if we forget or fall into err.
Our lord! lay not on us a burden like that who thou didst lay on those
    before us.
Our lord! lay not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear,
and grant us forgiveness. have mercy on us. thou art our protection,
help us against those who stand against faith (2:286)

11. Our lord! and make us submissive unto thee and our seed a nation
submissive unto thee, and show us our ways of worship, and relent toward us.
    (2:128 )

12. O my lord! grant me that I may be grateful for thy favour which thou has
bestowed upon me, and upon my parents, and that I may work righteousness
such as thou mayest approve, and be gracious to me in my issues.
truly have I turned to thee and truly do I bow (to thee) in Islam.
    (46:15)

13. The Inevitable!
     what is the inevitable?
and what will make you know what the inevitable is?
thamud and ad, denied the al-qariah,
as for ad, they were destroyed by the western wind.
do you see any remnants of them? (69)

14. Allah hath purchased of the believers their persons and their goods,
for theirs (in return) is the garden (of paradise). They fight in his cause, and
slay and are slain. A promise binding on him in truth, through the law, the
gospel, and the qur'an, and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah?
Then rejoice in the bargain which ye have concluded, that is the achievement
    supreme. (Al-Tawbah: 111)

15. Glorify the praises of your lord, and ask for his forgiveness. Verily, he is
the one who accepts the repentance and forgives (Al-nasr: 3)
