| Salam Jazakallah for the advice. I think one needs to keep up to date with the situation and judge accordingly. It is changing all the time. There were some leaders that said that the women should stay at home. However, other respected leaders said that this was incorrect advice. No one wants to put themselves in the path of trouble but we need to match our response to the situation. We are all victims of these attacks in London and we need to unite with the non-Muslims. If it is safe for us then we need to resume normal life. Yes be careful. But we need to trust in Allah. We must not live in fear. This is our home and we have important work to do here. We cannot make dawah and connect with the community if we stay at home. Lets not listen to the media hype as one leader said. Yes there have been incidents of attacks on the Muslims. But at present they are minor and need to be kept in perspective. Stay safe. Wassalam Your sister in Islam |

| [slm] precaution, that is why. There have ben reports of abuse and violence. It is better to stay indoors or to move in groups, have mobiles ready and report any incident immediately not only to the police but also Human Rights bodies. In some areas, police are siding with the native non-Muslim extremists. |

| [slm] Timbuktu, we are muslims, we fear Allah (swt). I am from central england and althought their has been a rise in abuse, the muslims here refuse to be intimitated. I have seen sisters walking the town centre in their nikabs and i am so proud of them, yes its risky, but stand your ground and stand up for yourself. My sister in law who is nikabi received verbal abuse, she gave abuse back and said she would NEVER remove the nikab to appease those little nastey bigots. My wife received comments and just laughed at the idiots. I agree women should not hang around on their own too much, but we will NOT stay in our homes. We will carry on with our lives. |

| [slm] I wish all the muslims in London well, definitely such persecution being faced now is to be expected after 7/7, though the hatred has been there all along for the muslims. Just be careful, take all humanly-possible protection, the ultimate protection is from Allah. |
