Has any one received an email stating that 2 american publishing Houses (one of them is named 'wine press) are printing a doctored book called "the new Furqan" and is distributing it in private schools in Kuwait?

Here is the link I was sent. I checked several sites, and everyone is requesting this info be made public.

It goes by the names: The True Furqan

                               The 21st Century Quran

                                The American Quran.

[Missionary website removed]

and this is the actual non-muslim site advertising the true furqan. One of the endorsers of this new fake quran is Billy Graham.

Its a old trick, but comes in many different forms.
They right something real contraversial, make it seem like a real danger.
People buy it to find out what it says, to refute it, to read it so they can tell others not to cause they know its bad from reading it.
And every one who bought it provides with with more money, what ever their reason for buying it!
And people who dont buy it, but complain about it, are advertising it for free.
loads of people do this, some target muslims, some target other religions, and some target people in general.
"Dont watch that film, real disgusting", "really, i want to see it, not because i am disgusting though, just to see how disgusting it is".
Duh...

Yeah this has been around for a while.

If you take a look at a few sample pages on a review site such as Amazon, you can see (in fact anyone who has read the Quran even just a couple times can see) that this has made an attempt but its not exactly in the same style as the Quran.

There are several verses in the Quran where Allah (swt) challenges people to bring "something like it".  I guess this is what these people are trying to do.

In any case, the key to this kind of thing is education.  We don't educate our youth enough about Islam.  The reason the communities of the Companions of the Prophet (SAW) (and indeed several generations after them) were so comfortable in talking to Christian missionaries is because they were well versed in the Quran and its teachings.

If people are being swayed from Islam by this, then they are most likely weak of faith or have little Islamic knowledge.

If we teach our people to be well versed in Quran then this kind of book will make little impact, inshallah.

the key is to ignore it. They do it for attention and money. Every time you look in to it, they get the attention, every time some one buys it, even with the intention of refuting it, they get money. So we will get more of this stufF. Salman rushdi, taslima Nasreen,, all the same. just ignore them, and let them talk to themselves untill they die and go to hell.

slm,

there's no need to get all upset or worked up about it... people have been trying to emulate or come up with or distort the quran since the time of the prophet [saw].

the funny thing is once some missionaries tried to come up with a website with surahs "like the one's in the Quran"... so they took the verses of the Quran and replaced certain words! and then they tried writing stuff without the proper arabic grammar, and without the rhythm or rhyme that the quran has... so it was really obvious how atrocious it was to any educated muslim who actually looked at it.  the problem is muslims got all upset about it and started sending forwards with the address to thousands of people until it was spread all over the internet!! talk about free advertising for something so sadly lacking in any type of validity of argument.

remember musalimah the liar and his "fake surahs"... if you read some they are kinda amusing too

btw i mean if people don't want to be muslim thats their choice.. but to desecrate someone's holy book for evangalism is just stooping really low.

but i think the lesson we learn is that we have to make the effort to teach every muslim at least some rudimentary basics of arabic and grammar so they are not confused by claims such as this.

a common example most missionaries will use is that sometimes in the Quran Allah refers to Himself as "WE" (that's how it is translated into English that is) like "We sent the prophet... etc"  and missionaries try to use this to say that God is the father, the holy spirit and son!! how they make that connection is amazing in itself.. i guess they never heard of the "royal we" that's in English!! or they'll say why does Allah always use Huwa (He) for Himself as well or why is everyting directed to masculine plural... but they don't know Arabic.. in Arabic Huwa is also used for "it" because there is no "it" in arabic.. everything is feminine or masculine.. like a table is feminine and a chair is masculine!!.. so even though Allah is genderless (of course) Huwa is used. and everything is directed to masculine plural because in Arabic that includes men AND women.

so...

learn Arabic everyone!!!

(inshallah ;))

I know the attempts to disfigure Islam and Introduce false hadith's and Qur'an has been on going since Islam appeared. Allah {swt} has promised to protect the Qur'an and that mankind can't reproduce one single aya.

But what shocked me is that they're actually distributing this in private Kuwati school, in the heart of the middle east.

After the first Gulf War, I remember reading that a Church was built in some tiny sheikdom, and there are barely any christian's there...

What gets me is that people can't see upon comparing both religions you distinctly see one is in constant attack mode and the other is defending.

One always defames the other...One tries to disfigure the other's belief system...
one attacks God and the Prophet Muhammed. Muslim's recognize Jesus period (as a Prophet, but you know what other's say about the Noble Prophet  [saw] }.

One tries to convert the other's followers by lowly means, like Coercion (wheteher offering money and a better life style, or offering/denying medical aid, taking away children and raising them as christians), etc.
