[slm] My sis is getting married and as her Matron of Honor I get to make a toast, (settle down peoples... non alcholic toast) Here it is, not memorable, but simple:modified from first post: Good Afternoon! For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Kathy, the very proud sister of our glamorous Bride. I want to start by congratulating Beth and Mark, and thanking you for inviting us here to celebrate your wedding. I remember once hearing that a girl should never get married without her mother. Our mom died when she was 42. Her memories are with us today. Unfortunately our Dad cannot be here either today. His wife has recently had a stroke and the trip from Florida was much too much for her. So as the eldest I am here representing their thoughts and love. When you are with Beth, you can tell she has found her love. Her world revolves around Mark as well as with him. It is a true joy to see. We are very happy to welcome Mark into our family God willing you will have a wonderful adventure ahead of you. Beth, you look so beautiful today. Your beauty reminds me of the Cinderella quote: Do you love me because I am beautiful, or am I beautiful because you love me? I know how much joy Beth has brought into our lives, and I know that she’ll bring that joy into Mark’s life as well. I asked my Dad who has had 2 successful loving marriages what words of wisdom he would like to bestow. He said he always remembers to say those three important little words..."You’re right dear." My wishes for Beth and Mark are that they enjoy success and laughter. Years from now, may you look back on this day, your wedding day, as the day you loved each other the least. I wish you the very best. Please raise your glasses while I toast my sister and Mark: A toast to the bride and groom and to all who have shaped, influenced or helped them to become who they are today! Beth and Mark "I wish you joy of heart, peace of mind, and the beautiful blessing of love." |
