Professional careers & Education?

This may seem like a silly question, but is it ok for a Muslim woman to become a lawyer?
I hardly know any Muslim woman lawyer.

I would like to go into law school (I'm beginning in college), but many of my Muslim
friends are pre-med and are urging me to go to med school. They say this is the best job
for Muslim girls. I do feel peer and parental pressure, but I'm also worried that I will
be greatly outnumbered by non-Muslims in law school.

Do you know Muslim women who are lawyers? Is this a good career for Muslims?

Also, I'm curious...for those of you who already have jobs or completing your
education, what is your job or what do you want to become?

Any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Yeah I knew a Muslim female lawyer.  I love her...she's awesome.  She did Environmental Law...and her advice was never to get into corporate.

But she was extraordinary.  She had a B.Sc. in Economics, a law degree, then a M.Sc. in Economics...and she said she wanted to go ahead and get the doctorate...

But she got married to a Surgeon and gave up the career altogether...

Wasalaam.
