Login problems

Salaams,

I login without a problem.  The I proceed to go and read a thread in any of the forums on
the board but as soon as I do that, I become a guest again!

Now that I have a computer at home, this is frustrating!  Checked my web browers to check
if the cookies are disable but they are not!  My connection to the internet has no
problem either!

What is the problem then?

slm,

hey chic do you have a firewall set up on the computer or virus detection software running? try disabling those and test to see if it works.

usually getting logged out is totally a cookies issue. make sure cookies are enabled in the browser. here are some directions:

How to delete cookies

To delete cookies using IE:
click TOOLS> then click INTERNET OPTIONS
in the center of that grey box that pos up, click delete cookies. This will delete all your cookies. If you don't want to delete all of them, you can also just delete specific ones by clicking "settings", then click "VIEW FILES"
A page will then pop up that lists all your cookies. Delete every one

To delete cookies using Netscape/Mozilla:
Click TOOLS> then click "cookie manager"
then click "Manage stored cookies"
A page will then pop up that lists all your cookies. Delete every one

Checking date/time

verify that the date on your computer's operating system is correct. Here are the instructions for that:
1) Click on the Start button - (I'm assuming that you have Windows on your computer, correct me if I'm wrong)
2) Click on the Settings
3) Select the Control Panel
4) Click on the Date and Time
5) Change it accordingly from here.
Double-check the date even if you are certain it is correct. Sometimes date settings seem to change for no obvious reason.

[slm] jannah,

None of the above.

Actually, it is really weired.  On the same computer at home, my son, Mahad is able to login, post, read, respond, etc., while I can't.

And if you remember, sometime back, I had the same problem on computer at the office.  Yet now, I able to do whatever I couldn't before, from the same computer at the office where I writing from now.

Could you kindly check my profile from your end and correct if there are any anomalies from there? Would very much appreciate that.

Shukran.

Talk of weird stuff!!!!  I am logged in from home and I am able to read and post.

I will never understand this.  So from now on, I will be going with the flow.
