It's ok if the brothers read this in cause their wives or female
relatives are in need of such info.

Sisters,
forgive me I am not ignoring you.
I am getting the pamplets I have and will post info and web sites and
such this week-end.
Please also do your own web searches on the following:

1) Polycystic Ovarian syndrome
2) Hursutism

I found this also:
www.hirsutism.homestead.com
www.drmirkin.com/women/8225.html
www.patients.uptodate.com/topic.asp?file=endo_hor/5570    (info in both)
www.aafp.org/afp/20030615/2565.html
www.aocd.org/skin/dermatologic_diseases/hirsutism

On the PCOS:

Laser removal will only get rid of existing hair it will not
prevent new folics from developing new hair shafts.
So you want to find the problem and treat the problem as well
as get rid of hair.
Some women even do underarms just so they don't have to shave anymore.
Some want it cause of hair growth in not so cool places.

I'll post more later.
To the sister who was asking if certain hair removal was permitted,
please forgive me as I don't know. May I suggest your private message
either sister jannah or sister kathy
as if they don't know they will know where to look for the answer.

Lastly, please know if you are having these issues, it is VERY frustrating.
Don't give up. All my hormones are with in range BUT the ratio's
are not in normal ranges. Go figure.
I don't have cysts on my ovaries except for one large one needing removal.
But non on the other and I have had over 8 ultrasounds in the last 4 years.
My monthly is normal as is my blood sugars and insulin is normal.
Go figure, I have been infertile over 20 years (THank Allah I had my sons as a teen ager or I may of not had any children) and have had to
have laser for the hair growth.
It has been almost 20 some odd years as this began when I was in my mid 20's.
I still have no answers. PCOS has been ruled out on me. Oh well  ::)
But many are more lucky than I and they find a cause.
But seek a cause along with laser treatment.

STAY AWAY from electrolisis.
I swear by lazer treatments.

I'll post more later.
If I have not answered the 3 sisters who have messaged me
please message me again with specific questions.
Other than what is permitted and what is not cause I am not at all
knowledgable enough to know. Sorry

I wonder why facial hair gives us so much grief? There must be something deep down inside of us that makes it unacceptable.

I actually have told my sister and neices to make sure the hairs on my chiny chin chin get removed when I am old and senile! I am more worried about that then a supply of Depends!

Even in regard to eyebrow waxing, plucking, shaping... I searched for any hint of a fatwa allowing it.. and unfortunately, did not finally give it up for a very long time. Even tho I am now closer to 50 than 40, it still bugs me!

What say you psych majors/graduates? Why does facial hair, unusual areas, bother us sooooooo much?

I don't have much of it, unless someone counts my eyebrows as bushy but to me they look normal, depending on what normal is to another person.

There is a colleague of mine who has real facial hairs on the sides of her jaws downwards to her chin.  She is so cool about it that when we look at her now, we see them as normal.  She even looks beautiful with it, if you can believe that. But hey, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.

So, let's hear from ladies here who might have something better to say!

Ok now this is going to give folks a terrifying visual of me  :D
I mean after all till jannah seen a pic of me holding my new grandson last year
she has the visual impression of me with gray hair and a stick to beat the young'ons  ::)

But if this conversation helps a sister or two I can be happy and not embarrassed.

I duno about cosmetic reasons, lazer is so expensive I could not afford it simply for cosmetic reasons. (eye brows, underarms, etc)

But when a woman has some sort of inbalance as to have very dark hair and the hair growth to be on her upper lip and chin and such, I think your psyc reason is
how many women are going around with a beard and mustache?
If I did not do the lazer thing this would be me  :'(
Not full but enough to make people look at me.

I have wondered thou, if we are not to alter ourselves but we have something that abnormal is it wrong to rid ourselves of it?
Just one more of lifes challenges or tests I guess.

Why does it seem like we feel women should be almost hairless?

Ok Jannah  :P Now you can picture that gray haired old lady holding a big stick with a semi dark beard and mustache running after kids to beat them  ;D
