| Masjid tou bana di shab bhar main, Iman ki hararat walon nay Mann apna purana papi hai, barson main Namazi ban na saka Kya khoob ameer-e-faisal ko sanawasi nay paigham diya Tu naam-o-nasab ka Hijazi hai, per dil ka Hijazi ban na saka Iqbal bara updeshak hai, mann baton main moh leta hai Guftar ka ye ghazi tou bana, kirdar ka ghazi ban na saka (Meanings: Masjid = Mosque; Shab bhar = Within a night; Iman ki hararat walon = Men with strong Faith; Papi = Sinner; Barson = Years; Namazi = Worshiper (referring to man of strong faith here )Ameer-e-Faisal = Leader of Muslims; Sanawwasi = Air; Paigham = Message; Naam-o-nasab = Race and Culture; Hijaazi = Muslim; Updeshak = Eloquence; mann moh lena = To impress; Guftar = Speeches Ghazi=warrior Kirdar = Character) |

| [slm] gosh, I dont recall what that poem meant..but if I think really hard, something about muslims made a masjid like practically overnight, despite resistance...yet noone came to pray in it. Its like, how can you preach about prayer and stuff, but then you yourself dont practice.... I'm guessing, its about the importance of prayer- and not necessarily about building large monuments - especially if they are not going to be used- Umm, not sure I got it right this time- yet again!!! I need to pay better attention.. salaams |

| [slm] lovely. wish it were simple as the importance of prayer. Actually it is more general, being all about the decorative exterior that Muslims of today put up, without any effort to learn and apply Islam in our lives. |

| [slm] Ok who is going to take a shot at translating this A friend of mind took a shot at it. An admirable effort considering the person doesnt know urd and just used the meanings of the words provided ::P This is what the person had to say "I wanted to take the negative route ..b/c of all the nay 's ..but opted not to...who knowsAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" so here it goes folks, enjoy ;) Men with strong faith are known to go to the masjid in a nite; sinners through the years worship as to men with strong faith pray there?; what beautiful leader whose messages are like a lamp that light the air? ; all races and cultures of muslims..the heart of the muslim is like a jungle; iqbal has speaking power and he impresses..; you speak this poem like a warrior with character |
