[slm] When is a woman old, Islamically? I was dreaming and looking at a Hajj package today, Insha Allah I will be physically and mentally ready in a couple of years... I read this under Visa requirements: "All females under 45 are required to travel for Umrah with a Mahram." Does this mean I am an old lady and can enjoy the rights given to old ladies? I am over 45. Side thought: In fact I just turned a year older and am only a couple of years from being fifty! :o Yikes... i still feel like a 30 year old! I can't imagine what it will be like at 70... but mentally be still only 30! i think I am begnning to understand what it is like being caught in an old body! |

As far as I know, a woman can't go to Hajj without a Mahram. But I never heard "under 45" or something similar! As far as I know, there's no age limit. |

Some scholars say a woman can go to Hajj with a group, and saudi gives out visas for this reason. Anyhow i think a woman is old: if Desi ur old when ur 20 if ur Arab ur old when ur 30 if ur American ur old never as long as u look good ;) thats my conclusion :P and in this case i'm gonna go with being american!! |

Serious question then: Jannah and those who have met me... answer truthfully.... Did you think of me as being your age or an old woman? |

[slm] Dear Kathy, I'm sure you look beautiful as a Muslimah -- I don't think people can actually tell how old a Muslim woman is by just looking at her -- I mean the Nuur that shines from her face, thus from the salat (prayer) and from reading the Qu'ran etc...SubhanAllah! we can not comprehends the effect that it has on someone's life and age. Alhamdulilah for Islam and Iman. :-) |

wlm, dude i think of you as young... like someone in their mid30s... i find it odd to think of people who have kids as 'my age' even though i could technically have some younguns by now |
