'K I'll go first... InshaAllah this Ramadan...... - I'd like to start fasting mondays and thursdays beforehand, cause to jump into fasting every day is usually a shock to my system. - I'll try to attend taraweeh every day, if I'm tired I'll go to the local mosque instead of the usual one. And if I'm home I'll do taraweeh at home alone and not skip it. - I will try to get up and eat suhoor every day with vitamins etc so i don't get sick. - I'll try to eat just a snack/salad stuff at iftar and eat the real dinner after taraweeh. This also hopefully will limit my time at all these iftar parties. -I'll try to plan ahead of time some extra good deeds throughout the month. -I'll try to do all my sunnahs consistently. -I'll try to read/listen to the taraweeh of the section coming up at home. allrightey I hope this Ramadan goes well and we all benefit from it inshaAllah |

[slm] let's see, this is hard. 1. go to bed at a decent hour so I dont feel too tired to wake up for suhoor. 2 . Taraweeh each day- stay at work late and go from there and the days that I have volleyball games keep up with taraweeh at home. 3. volleyball days- break fast at work and make sure to eat something good or have a bottle of ensure before the game:) 4. be nicer to my family...b/c charity starts at home eh. And I think I've been mean lately. 5. dont talk too much at work. I fall into the habit of chit chatting with co workers about stupid things. Sit and chill is my new mode. I think the above is realistic. The hardest part will be fulfilling the taraweeh aspect. Okay dokie. thats it for now. salaam |

[slm] it's been a long time -to get my schedule of prayers and reading back on track. been through a very difficult patch that if not for prayer and Allah, i know without Him i wouldn't have made it. -to get in touch with my muslim friends and stay in touch better. i don't talk to my sistuhs enough. -to trust in Allah more, He has been and is my protector and to bear witness to his vast mercy in my life. -to spend more time taking better care of myself. -to regain some of the balance and confidence i lost. -to get closer, inshaAllah to my Lord. :-) Muneerah [] |

[quote author=jannah link=board=ramadan;num=1127311611;start=0#1 date=09/21/05 at 11:14:10] - I'd like to start fasting mondays and thursdays beforehand, cause to jump into fasting every day is usually a shock to my system. [/quote] That's a great idea sis Jannah -- Matter of fact I’m fasting today, and thus this weeks Monday as well, Alhamdulilah its really a good way to start to prepare for the holy month of Ramadan. Well, other than hitting the double star Market and becoming Madina Citizen lol - Hhmm I already fast Monday and Thursday so I would like to finish the holy Qu'ran in this special month of Ramadan in sha Allah. Do my taraweeh prayer at home and listing to all Hamza Yusuf's CD's and so forth, and of course do as much good deeds as I can in sha Allah. If I remember more I will post it here God Willing! wassalaam. |

Assalamu alaikum: I got the Sound Vision newsletter last week and they've got an interesting article about Ramadan goals, many of which I intend to keep Insha Allah. The article's at http://SoundVision.com/info/ramadan/10goals.asp But I concur with the sleep schedule resolution. It's hard not to completely conk out. Wasalam Manzar1984 |

Since this will be my first Ramadan after Umrah (which, btw went great) , I really want to change my bad ways and turn over a new leaf. - Finish the Qur'an -Stop gossiping -Be nicer to my family -Help out more -Start volunteering -Become closer to Allah with daily Quran, instead of a couple times a week i hope this will help me -Wajida |

[slm] I want to have people over for Iftar. When we are invited to people's homes they put on a feast fit for a king. We can not afford that and because of this, kind of 'embarrassed' to have people over for a simple meal. I am going to try to have people over never the less. Insha Allah |
