| [slm] A relative of mine was married and divorced a few years ago. At present, her husband is remarried. Now, he wants to marry her, again. I told her that both parties have to marry and divorce before marrying each other again. Am I wrong? I don't want to be telling the wrong thing to this person.... Plus, I remember that they have to marry and consumate the marriage before divorcing and marrying each other again. Whats the correct answer? |

| [wlm] whoa chica.. this is why its so important to consult an imam or scholars in this matter!! the rule of marrying someone else, consummating etc goes for ppl who were divorced 3 "times" and the way the times count itself gets technical...and i have no idea if it applies to both... anyways it's better if we don't try to become the judges here because this is an extremely important matter - the difference between zina and marriage. please ask your cousin to call up a shariah council/imam etc person |

| [wlm] maybe you can find out for her from your own imam. seriously to tell someone they are married/not married/or cannot be married etc is a huge ruling. it is best to find out from someone knowledgable so that they can consider all the details of the case before giving a ruling. |
