HIV children part2

Awhile ago I wrote on here about an incident that happened between my colleagues and myself about some orphans with HIV in Malaysia, and how I'd been very upset by what had occured.

Some people had asked how they could help, and today unicef have launched a new compaign which is trying to raise awareness on this very issue and also suggests how you can help out http://www.unicef.org/.  The bbc have this article http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/4324310.stm, and I just wanted to remind everyone that this is now an epidemic which is also affecting Muslims around the world.  Innocent children are being orphaned and they need to be remembered and supported.

The irony of the whole thing is that there are drugs which could benefit these kids and they cost about 2p a day, but once again, it's the people in 'poorer' countries who miss out.  Just to give you a rough estimate in British currency: around £1 can give 10 children a week's supply of life-saving anitbiotics, £20 provides medicine for 100 mothers to prevent them passing HIV to their children, and other monetary figures can provide other forms of support for orphans.
