| [slm] Yesterday I went to an AMS (association of muslim schools) UK meeting and this guy was one of the speakers. He spoke abt being a teacher in a muslim school and how we can improve ourselves to be better at our jobs. He talked abt caring for students and touching their hearts as a way to guide, help and understand them. It was an excellent talk and it really motivated everyone to do better. The head teacher spoke abt him and what she'd learnt to our older set of girls. One of the girls later came up to me and said that we don't get on and we need to change that. we chatted and cleared the air and she said she'd realised that the animosity needed to stop so that we can get along. Now, I'm not a teacher, just an admin but I was really amazed and touched by her effort to speak to me. It was so out of the blue and I hadn't expected to be having such a conversation in a million years! it's been an 'us Vs them' situation but now we realise we have to be on the same side. It felt so good to clear all the bad feelings up. Inshallah it will continue. So, anyways, this guy has done alot of talks so I was wondering if anyone has heard him and if so what happened in your workplace? he covers a wide range of topics from business to parenting. |
